Scandals galore!

Really just two scandals while perusing the sports pages and baseball blogs.  First, the Taiwanese baseball game fixing scandal!  You can read about it here and here.  Doesn't surprise me... Taiwan is no stranger to scandals and corruption - anything from a former president (apparently) faking his own assassination attempt (and his later arrest for embezzlement, money laundering, and bribery) to earlier match-fixing controversies, massive brawls in their senate meetings, and sex scandals.  Hell, Taiwanese business, government, and politics are just plain corrupt, savage, and unethical in general.  Nevertheless, it is still a beautiful country with great night life, food, and culture... haven't visited in about 6 or 7 years though.  One good thing that can come out of this?  Chien-Ming Wang, Fu-Te Ni, and Hong-Chih Kuo are looking quite dapper in their suits (from 2nd article I linked):

That rules.  (From AP)

Speaking of suits... apparently there are photographs floating about the internets featuring Grady Sizemore in (nearly) his birthday suit.  For shame!  Just kidding.  People can take nude/semi-nude pictures of themselves and send them to their girlfriends (or boyfriends) if they so desired.  Sucks for Grady though that someone decided to hack into his girlfriend's email account.  You can read about the "scandal" here.  Think ol' Grady will become a household name now?  Not a good way to be known.  Also, not about to go look for his "special" pictures and post them up, but one can imagine a lot of man-flesh and turgidity abounds.  This news item is particularly humorous to me because I pulled a Grady Sizemore relic from a box of 2009 Allen & Ginter's I opened last night:

Awesome!  A game-used jersey swatch with dirt/mud on it!  Rarely do you see GU relics that actually look game-used and dirty.  You dirty, dirty fellow.

I hope the Taiwanese baseball scandal works out.  It is a great sport (undoubtedly) with a great tradition in Taiwan that should not be tainted by the vices and follies of unsavory people (who aren't actual baseball players, as they can create enough bull-shite for themselves).  Regarding Sizemore: on the one hand it is silly how often scandalous photographs get stolen from celebrities - in some cases it even boosts your fame and status, albeit in unwanted ways - but it's still an invasion of privacy and that is never cool.
